Here’s the truth most course creators learn the hard way: people don’t just show up because your webinar topic is good. They show up because they’ve been primed to care. They’ve had the chance to benefit from your other content like socials, emails, or other free downloads in videos. They know that when they spend time learning from you, they get closer to their goals.
Your pre-launch content is what makes them lean in. It turns “That might be interesting” into “I need to be there.”

Here are five ways to breathe life into your pre-launch funnel and get more people actually showing up.
1. Your Content Isn’t Leading to the Webinar
Your Instagram posts, emails, and Reels may be eye-catching, but if they’re not bringing to light or at least mentioning something related to the problem your webinar is designed to address, they’re not doing their job.
Pre-launch content should spark curiosity, tease what’s coming, and address the exact pain points your webinar is solving.
Instead of posting random value tips, try:
- Sharing behind-the-scenes prep for your event, maybe even a sneak peek of your slides
- Calling out common struggles that relate to your webinar topic
- Highlighting micro-wins your audience could get from attending
The goal? By the time they see your webinar promo, they’re already nodding along.
2. Your Webinar Page Is All Facts, No Feels
Webinar pages are often a bullet list of what you’ll teach. That’s helpful, but not enough.
People sign up for webinars because they believe:
- This will solve a problem I care about
- I won’t regret giving up 45 minutes of my life
Use emotion-driven language. Paint a picture of what’s possible. Add a compelling headline that speaks directly to the transformation they want.
And yes, page design matters. Make sure the text is readable, easy to consume on mobile view, and that your CTA button clearly stands out so people quickly see where to tap next.
3. You’re Only Promoting to Cold Traffic
If your warm audience isn’t converting, pouring more cold traffic into the funnel won’t fix it.
Even if you’re boosting a post or running ads to strangers, make sure you have a clear plan to send several (5 is a good number) solid, story-driven emails to your list. This is in addition to posting consistently to the people who already know you. Remember, rarely anybody will see ALL of your posts or ALL of your emails, so having multiple queued up is important.

- Include a countdown or reminder in your content
Urgency should serve your audience and excite them, not scare them. Think encouragement, no coersion.
5. You’re Assuming They Already Get It
One of the biggest mistakes? Assuming your audience already understands why this training matters.
Your audience is busy. They’re distracted. And even if they want what you’re teaching, it’s your job to connect the dots.
Spell out the transformation. Remind them why it’s worth showing up. Make it stupid-easy to register with a couple clicks.

Day 1: Share a common misconception related to your webinar topic. Ask your audience if they’ve heard it before. A poll on Instagram is an easy way for people to engage.
Day 2: Bust that myth with a tip or example.
Day 3: Invite them to the webinar with context: “If this landed, wait until you hear what I’m sharing live.”
It’s simple, scrappy, and gets people paying attention.
